McCoy Plates

   Vintage McCoy plates are some of the finest pottery of the 20th century and are also highly prized by collectors.  McCoy made plates in every shape, size and design.  When shopping for a piece for your collection, look for marked and signed pieces.

   When looking through estate sales or online auctions, watch for dinnerware, mixing bowls and pitchers that match your favorite McCoy plates.  If you find a plate you like on eBay, look to see if the seller has the matching accessories, like platters, bowls and the like.

   Vintage McCoy plates were popular when they came out because they were practical stoneware and yet beautiful. You can find them in all sizes, colors, and shapes. The styles vary from an early American look to art deco.

   It is extremely difficult to find sets of McCoy pottery available. Unlike fine china that is used primarily for special occasions, McCoy designs were intented to be used every day. With such frequent use comes many opportunities to drop and break the pieces.
